Erina Ishiyama was born in Osaka, Japan, and raised in Nara. She began her piano journey at the age of three, fostering a deep passion for performing and exploring new repertoire.
Erina pursued her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance at the University of Arts in Osaka, Japan. Following her graduation with distinction, she furthered her studies at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree with distinction.
Under the tutelage of renowned pianists such as Antoinette Van Zabner, Hiroko Miki, Selgei Dorensky, and Robert Levin, she honed her charismatic style and technique.
Since then, Erina has graced stages across the UK, Japan, and Europe, captivating audiences with a repertoire spanning from Bach to contemporary pieces. She finds joy in performing as a soloist, accompanist, and collaborator in chamber groups and piano duets.
In 2016, Erina relocated to the UK, where she continued her dedication to piano performance as a soloist, accompanist, and private piano/music theory teacher. She holds the FRSM, LRSM, and DipABRSM qualifications in Piano Performance,
acquired after her move to the UK.
Furthermore, Erina shares her expertise with students across Europe and Asia, boasting a diverse roster of pupils spanning over 10 countries.
Teaching Experience
I have played the piano for over 30 years (since 3 years old) and have over 15 years experience both as a private piano teacher and a professional accompanist.
I have also taken part in a number of recitals in Japan, the UK.
I have been teaching piano for beginners to advance, children of all ages to adults in Japan, Austria and the UK.
Current students are from six years old to adult who live in UK, Europe and Asia.
Students who want to learn the correct techniques from the basics are welcome!
Lessons take place at my home, using Bechstein Grand Piano M.
Home concerts and class concerts are held regularly.
